  • #i

wich wifi router is a practiced bang for buck for Quest two and works well?

what do i need to expect for that is very important

  • #two

If you lot're using information technology stand solitary so I don't recollect it has any significant demands over and above what your Internet access provider'south stock router tin can deliver.

You'll demand a WiFi vi router if y'all want to wirelessly tether it to a gaming PC.

Depending on your ISP, you might need a new modem. For case, BT Infinity FTTC comes with the BT Homehub which can't exist put into bridge mode. The Vigor 130 is a popular replacement modem.

You lot don't necessarily need a Wi-fi vi router, mine's simply a five and information technology runs wirelessly via virtual desktop fine.

hi i just desire to precice Occ que2 is a head set up without wire...
i the best router at the moment uses tech that is non fifty-fifty included compatible with headset information technology is useless. i would similar best bang for buck that has fabricated its proofs ....

I've recently bought the TP Link Deco M4 triple pack. This allows me to connect everywhere in the house at 833mbps with the Quest ii

The PC Gamer article lists two budget options and the Q&A section at the terminate advises what you lot should be looking for from a gaming router (Spoiler: prioritisation and latency!).

Quest 2 does support WiFi half dozen. Y'all want a WiFi vi router for the best wireless speed and the best management of a number of wireless devices.

If information technology were me, I wouldn't choose anything less than WiFi 6. If it were me, I'd purchase the Asus RT-AX88U.

The router you get from your ISP volition piece of work. So reckon that is the best 'bang for your cadet'.

Hither's another article for you to chew on...

cool and if for anti facebook spying on me , i think i would employ a vpn .

what to look for when choosing a practiced vpn for quest2
what to expect for for choosing the modem that would go with information technology.

Has at that place been any measurements of the max speeds (in game) that can exist archived with the wifi6 router vs normal 5Ghz ac router while using Virtual desktop or air link?.
I know VD carte du jour in Quest will show a max speed of 866/1200mps depending on the router only that's does not prove games use those speeds.

Because the cost of the Asus AX86U/AX88U, I was wondering if a far better solution volition exist a dirt cheap (used) wifi 6 router added to the existing network and used simply past the HMD. This way there is no bandwidth contention with other devices on the network

Oculus recommend 5GHz WiFi air conditioning or ax (WiFi 5 or half-dozen). Then WiFi 5 will piece of work. I would expect WiFi vi to exist more reliable if y'all can't guarantee that 5GHz bandwidth is dedicated to the Quest ii. Fifty-fifty if the Quest isn't using the total bandwidth of WiFi 6 there is more than spare than for WiFi 5 for whatsoever other wireless gadget that might make up one's mind to download an update mid VR session.

They too recommend same room, line of sight and not using a mesh system.

  • #12

The bandwidth is at the connection though and so each router shares the 1 bandwidth. That'due south why it is of import to setup routers, APs and LAN in full general carefully. Yous want to avoid double NAT whatsoever you practice.

what about if the new router is setup as an admission betoken only for the quest? could the main router still have issues sharing new router bandwidth with other wired&Wireless devices continued to it ?

Chap backside Virtual Desktop has been maxim on Reddit he does non recommend access points. His best preference is for a router hardwired into the PC.

The more than kit involved betwixt desktop and Quest ways more latency.

Saw this and remembered this thread!

RT-AX88U or RT-AX86U, which is all-time?

As well just wondering if its actually better to go for a Tri band router?

The RT-AX88U definitely has more features but whether those features are important enough to y'all to justify the extra expense, but y'all can know.

My understanding is triband brings benefit when yous have a big number of devices connected via 5GHz. Or by offering a defended 5GHz channel for meshing but Facebook recommends you don't mesh when using Airlink.

I'd just get something like this.
A single router may cover the whole firm, but y'all'll exist hard pushed to become 833mbps (or whatever the max speed is) everywhere.
With the mesh system I have, I get 833mbps everywhere, and even at the rear of the back garden still run across 433mbps.

Reason, I was considering the tri band is considering a couple of items in my home networks are connected to 5Ghz so can't really demote them all to 2.4Ghz in favour of the Quest 2 if it tin can't play nicely with others

I'd just become something like this.
A single router may encompass the whole firm, simply y'all'll be hard pushed to get 833mbps (or whatever the max speed is) everywhere.

Does this work well with Quest 2 considering its mesh?

Does this work well with Quest 2 considering its mesh?

I have my PC plugged into one of the units upstairs. I'grand able to play projection cars wirelessly no problems

  • #21

hi what do you mean past double nat?

  • #22

i accept to precise my need,
i volition but use wifi in i room close to me , i alive alone.
i programme to use a vpn service so it has to have a engineering that makes it fast ( regular router on wich we add vpn service are dull from this commodity VPN Routers - The Ultimate Guide | Restore Privacy )
i dont want the all-time thing i prefer all-time bang for buck.
my net speed is actually 15 download and 10 upload. (i hope it is enought)
any suggestion ?

it is a question for informed people cause information technology seem when y'all employ a vpn if you dont buy a router made for that the speed volition be irksome . any geek could observe me some
i likewise read that somewhere wich tells me probably it would be better to have a oriented vpn rather than expensive wifi 6-- If you lot already accept a 5g router no need to upgrade merely for the Quest2. People who have tested Wifi6 with Quest2 report no benefit compared to 5g. Existing applications don't yet utilize enough bandwidth to exploit the benefit of Wifi 6.

does this on have enough under the hood ? cause it is inexpensive and vpn written in title..
Caution, ONE IS written server vpn and the other only vpn what does that change?
i dont call up i accept a server, just a normal pc , i m not even certain what is server is merely information technology would be a pity to order information technology and realise i is not compatible with a normal(non server) pc... lite me mister and other knowledgeable geek plz :)
